OUR RESEARCH

Research and Experimental Work

Visual Storytelling with AI

A short storytelling experiment made with AI-assisted image and voice tools. We use this example to explore how these tools may be used in education and cultural work.

The character speaking in a room of books was created as an AI animation and voice experiment. The video is not a historical recording.

NURAYAHS

We make short films grounded in our sources and aim to reach different audiences through multilingual content. Through NURAYAHS, we explore questions of faith and meaning through visual storytelling, inviting viewers to reflect.

About this work

NURAYAHS combines short films and reading material to invite reflection on faith, the meaning of life and human responsibility. We explore these topics through everyday situations and stories that different audiences can follow.

We take the Qur’an as our fundamental reference and draw inspiration from the storytelling and reflective tradition of Risale-i Nur. We identify the works and sections used and distinguish the source text from our own interpretation and scenes created for the films. Viewers can therefore also examine the ideas behind a film in their original sources.

The accounts in the Qur’an and illustrative stories in Risale-i Nur offer rich material for reflecting on human life. We aim to share this heritage across cultures and encourage people to read, explore and think about the questions it raises.

We use AI-assisted image and voice tools to make the films. People remain responsible for content choices and interpretations. The animations are not presented as recordings of real events.

Reading material accompanying the English short films is available in 24 languages, including Turkish. Viewers can therefore read about the topics in their own languages and access the relevant sources.

NURAYAHS is still developing. We will share new films, reading material and updates on work in progress when they are ready. Suggestions and contributions are welcome.
